Chamber Board Meets with MLA Jackie Armstrong-Homeniuk to Discuss Regional Priorities
It was a pleasure to once again welcome the honourable Jackie Armstrong-Homeniuk, MLA to the Fort Saskatchewan & Lamont County Regional Chamber of Commerce office—this time to meet directly with our Board of Directors.
More than half of our Board took the time to come out, engage, and share an open and productive conversation about the Chamber, our region, and the broader economic landscape. We provided an update on how the Chamber is doing, including the pause of our Trade Show in 2026, the expansion of our Job Fair (now rebranded as the Chamber Career & Hiring Expo) and the growing role our events and members play in supporting the local economy.
The discussion also touched on major provincial and national themes, including the Alberta–Ottawa MOU, potential pipeline projects, AI data centres, workforce development, and the importance of the Industrial Heartland to Alberta’s future. MLA Armstrong-Homeniuk shared insights on opportunities, grants, and available government support, which were greatly appreciated by the Board.
We also had a meaningful conversation about the Ukrainian community in Alberta—an important file for MLA Armstrong-Homeniuk—and their strong presence and positive economic impact in our region, contributing to Alberta’s productivity and growth.
Thank you to MLA Armstrong-Homeniuk for taking the time to meet with our Board and for her continued engagement with the business community. Conversations like these are essential to ensuring local voices are heard and regional priorities are understood.
